Phi’s practice is rooted in the exploration of place and how we engage with our immediate environments, be that intimate and domestic or expansive and public. How we place ourselves within place. How place carries traces of history and how it shapes our experiences socially, domestically and environmentally.

The work examines not only the physical elements of place but also its layered narratives and the emotional registers it provokes. Central to Phi’s inquiry is the question of response: How do we as individuals and communities react to place - be that personal, local or unfamiliar environments — physically, emotionally or sensorially?
